The DSC-S85 allows users to capture ultra high quality images with its 4.1 Mega Pixels HAD CCD, which offers incredible clarity of digital images up to 2,272 x 1,704 pixels. In addition, it is equipped with the new Burst 3 shots Mode and Auto Exposure Bracketing features. Users can take 3 burst shots automatically with different exposure setting at each shot and select the best exposure one.

 

To enhance the enjoyment of capturing digital images, the DSC-S85 provides the advanced Clip Motion and Long Time MPEG Movie Recording Modes, allowing users to record continuous MPEG video mail up to 95 minutes with a 128MB Memory Stick. Incorporating the NP-FM50 InfoLithium Battery System, the new model can extend the enjoyment with stamina up to 160 minutes or 3,000 shots. Digital image transmission to the computer is easy and fast with the USB terminal.

The DSC-S85 offers a newly introduced flash function - the Auto Focus Illuminator, which can accurately detect the main flash level and emit visible light for better focus on objects in dark environment. The sensitivity of the picture can be set without changing the aperture value or the shutter speed thanks to the new built-in ISO Sensitivity selector (Auto, ISO 100, 200, 400).

Its easy-to-use Manual Operation features offer more convenience and flexibility. For instance, users can adjust the shutter speed and aperture value separately with the Manual Mode. Meanwhile, the Jog Dial allows users to control EV, manual focus distance, Aperture Priority and shutter speed at a fingertip.

The DSC-S85 features Carl Zeiss Lens and 6x Precision Digital Zoom. With the 14bit DXP (Digital Extended Processor), it offers better signal processing ability and delivers 16 times less digital noise than the conventional 10bit A/D converter. This can balance the luminance and reproduce a natural picture
