The GRDVL-9800E (PAL) camcorder incorporates a combination of three advanced picture
technologies that work together to ensure the finest image quality,
(1) Progressive Scan CCD The key to high picture quality is in image capturing, this camcorder uses
a 680,000 pixels Progressive scan CCD to record an entire frame in one scan, while other
camcorders use an interlace scan system in which half a frame is recorded at a time,
(2)Progressive Color Filter Which processes each scanning line individually to generate a pure
signal that increases the sensitivity to a higher level,
(3)High Band Processor Incorporates a high band processor that restores the high band component
of the luminance signal and ensures extremely high horizontal resolution of 520 lines.

PCM Digital Stereo Sound 12/16 bit audio, 16 bit offers one set of stereo tracks and achieves the
same quality as CD, while the 12 bit mode creates two sets of stereo tracks, audio dub is possible
when recorded in 12 bit mode.

Digital Image Stabilizer The preformance of 680,000 pixel CCD enables the digital image stabilizer to
eliminate camera shake without degrading picture quality.

Zoom Equiped with a 10x optical zoom that lets you close-in on your subject with a pure optical quality,
and the 200x digital zoom that lets you go all the way out with incredible close-ups, with spline
Interpolation technology smoothes out image contours to minimize jagged edges. You can also zoom
in on any part of an image during playback with the 10x pinpoint zoom.

Dual Shooting Mode For simultaneous recording of still and motion pictures, just push the snapshot
button in the dual mode and a still picture (VGA 640x480) is recorded on the MutiMedia card while you
continue to record motion video on tape.

Digital Still Camera This still mode is capable of capturing crystal-clear still images up to XGA (1024 x
768) resolution. The still images are stored on a removable MultiMedia card which is independent of
the video recording. The supplied 4MB card stores up to 75 stills in VGA (640 x 480) resolution, and 36
stills in XGA (1024 x 768) resolution in a space of the size of a postage stamp.
Pro Snapshot Allows you to freeze 6 seconds of video and audio, and can be recorded on to a mini
DV tape.

Analog Input Allows you to record in to the camcorder all of your memories recorded in the analog
format by allowing you to archive them on a Mini DV tape.

Versatile Multimedia Interface DV in/out terminal (i.link: IEEE-1394) is provided for fast lossless
Digital transfer to a computer or dubbing from or to another DV unit. There is also a serial terminal for
direct connection to a PC with a Serial port (RS-232C) connection. The camcorder has even more
flexibility with the MultiMedia Card, you just remove the card from the camcorder and insert it in a PC,
via the optional CUV50U PCMCIA adapter, which allows you to download the still images with the
supplied software.

Random Assemble Editing You can select up to 8 scenes in the camcorder and tranfer them to
another video tape in any order you like.

Color Viewfinder Features a 180,000 pixel color polycrystalline silicon viewfinder that delivers clear
and natural looking images.

3.5' LCD Monitor The monitor can be freely tilted for high angle shots, low shots and self portaits
when pointed forward.

Auto Flash When you are taking still shots the flash automatically fires whenever the existing light
levels are insufficient.

Digital Effects Will give your videos a polished professional look. You can apply the Digital effects
while you are shooting or in playback mode.
